Improvisation + Viewpoints
How can we stay with ourselves in the present moment, not reflecting on what's happened or planning our next steps? This class utilizes Mary Overlie's six viewpoints: Space, Shape, Time, Emotion, Movement, and Story to help students develop tools for conversing with their physical selves and the environment around them. Essential skills in contact improvisation are also introduced along with explorations of ensemble compositions and improvisation for performance. Currently sharing with The Joffrey Ballet Academy Trainees.
