P L A Y
Concept, Direction, and Performance: Gina Hoch-Stall Performer/Collaborators: Josh Anderson, Hazel Black, Emily Craver, KJ Dye, Abby Koskinas
Sound Design/DJ: Dorian Haim
Dramaturgy: Lyndsey Vader
From the dramaturg:
P L A Y, for me, makes transparent the creative process in the moment of live performance. The work brings set choreography together with compositional improvisations to create a world that explores the accumulation of meaning over time. Performers track shifting inner states and reflect upon pricks of memory from past iterations that surface unexpectedly. They share these moments of interiority and discoveries made in the rehearsal studio with you—the audience. As you witness tonight’s performance, consider: What memories or sensations of play arise? Where can you identify play structures emerging, morphing, and fading? How are play acts generated and what values do they enunciate?
