Choreographer

​I have always been interested in the ways the body in motion reveals the messy humanity breathing heavily beneath the skillful execution. As a spectator, I am rarely content to absorb virtuosity perfectly regurgitating memorized actions. I respect the effort, time, and commitment to the process, but I ask myself: why does it matter? What is the purpose of our field: to demonstrate our learned abilities or to utilize our physical intelligence to reveal the complexity that lurks inside our carefully crafted exteriors? I create in the realm of the latter which requires cultivating brave and responsive rehearsal spaces where individual collaborators can express their experiences and needs with complete agency.
