Pilates Videos
I created these five videos in partly out of sheer demand but also to preserve and share some of the cues, exercises and experiments we've embarked upon together over the last seven years. These videos are designed to offer you an opportunity to keep working at home in partnership with continued work at your gym/studio.
As far as difficulty: the first video is the most accessible to beginner practitioners, the next three workouts are all accessible to intermediate level practitioners with the final advanced mat workout being the most challenging - but not impossible - for most of you. Obviously I won't be in the room to cue you directly but please take a few moments before starting each video to check in with your body just as we did together in every class and session we shared.

DESCRIPTIONS
This 43 minute workout is a perfect way to warm up for your day. At the start of the video I will talk you through Kathy Grant's ten bands to better articulate and warm up your spine. We then apply the band concept in almost every exercise in the video to maximize your ability to track your progress at home. The pace is thoughtful with time for personal discovery and it is the most accessible for beginner and intermediate practitioners.

This 50 minute workout does require a Magic Circle but any brand or style will suffice. We begin with an arm and shoulder warm up and dive in from there tackling familiar and less known exercises. The pace is brisk and we tackle a lot of the 'problem areas' where clients often request strengthening and toning. This video is appropriate for intermediate practitioners and beyond.

This 38 minute workout is a fast-paced, playful exploration of hip/thigh integration and full body work. We will play with balance, spinal pathways and use the ball for information about symmetry. The shorter length makes it possible for you to slip this workout into the middle of your day and there are several points where you could easily add additional repetitions. This workout is appropriate for intermediate practitioners and beyond.
|
This 40 minute workout is an excellent balance of stretching and strengthening. Beginning with stability work and roll downs on the foam roller we continue to open, engage and organize our bodies until we can flow into some advanced variations like our abdominal series with teaser variations and the tendon stretch (pictured). This video is appropriate for intermediate practitioners who are willing to push themselves and fall over once in a while.

This 50 minute workout is designed to challenge your entire body with strength and coordination. My objective is to keep you moving as much as possible while also allowing some time to organize and modify according to your needs on the day. Even if you do not currently consider yourself 'advanced,' I encourage you to challenge yourself give this video a try.
